Test F: Rear Window Is Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Operate inoperative window from driver's door master window switch. If window does not operate, go to next step. If window operates, go to step  26 .
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect inoperative window motor harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between inoperative window motor harness connector Yellow/Red wire terminal while pressing driver's door master window switch to appropriate window DOWN position. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step for left rear window or go to step  8 for right rear window. If battery voltage exists, go to step  13 .
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect left rear window switch harness connector C706. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Light Blue wire) while pressing driver's door master window switch to left rear window DOWN position. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  6 .
  4. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Light Blue wire). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Light Blue wire.
  5. Measure resistance in Yellow/Light Blue wire between left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 2 and driver's door master window switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 15. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Light Blue wire.
  6. Measure resistance between ground and left rear window motor harness connector Yellow/Red wire terminal. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire.
  7. Measure resistance in Yellow/Red wire between left rear window motor harness connector terminal and left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 5. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace left rear window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Red wire.
  8. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right rear window switch harness connector C806. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and right rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Black wire) while pressing driver's door master window switch to right rear window DOWN position. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  11 .
  9. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and right rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Black wire). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire.
  10. Measure resistance in Yellow/Black wire between right rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 2 and driver's door master window switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 16. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Light Blue wire.
  11. Measure resistance between ground and right rear window motor harness connector Yellow/Red wire terminal. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire.
  12. Measure resistance in Yellow/Red wire between right rear window motor harness connector terminal and right rear window switch harness connector C806 terminal No. 5. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace right rear window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Red wire.
  13. Measure resistance between ground and inoperative window motor harness connector Yellow/Red wire terminal. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace driver's door master window switch.
  14. Measure voltage between ground and inoperative window motor harness connector Red/Yellow wire terminal while pressing driver's door master window switch to appropriate window UP position. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step for left rear window or go to step  20 for right rear window. If battery voltage exists, go to step  25 .
  15. Disconnect left rear window switch harness connector C706. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 4 (Gray/Orange wire) while pressing driver's door master window switch to left rear window UP position. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  18 .
  16. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 4 (Gray/Orange wire). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Gray/Orange wire.
  17. Measure resistance in Gray/Orange wire between left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 4 and driver's door master window switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 17. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Gray/Orange wire.
  18. Measure resistance between ground and left rear window motor harness connector Red/Yellow wire terminal. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Yellow wire.
  19. Measure resistance in Red/Yellow wire between left rear window motor harness connector terminal and left rear window switch harness connector C706 terminal No. 1. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace left rear window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
  20. Disconnect right rear window switch harness connector C806. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and right rear window switch harness connector C806 terminal No. 4 (Red/Black wire) while pressing driver's door master window switch to right rear window UP position. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  23 .
  21. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and right rear window switch harness connector C806 terminal No. 4 (Red/Black wire). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Black wire.
  22. Measure resistance in Red/Black wire between right rear window switch harness connector C806 terminal No. 4 and driver's door master window switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 18. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Black wire.
  23. Measure resistance between ground and right rear window motor harness connector Red/Yellow wire terminal. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Yellow wire.
  24. Measure resistance in Red/Yellow wire between right rear window motor harness connector terminal and right rear window switch harness connector C806 terminal No. 1. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace right rear window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
  25. Measure resistance between ground and inoperative window motor harness connector Red/Yellow wire terminal. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace appropriate window motor. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace driver's door master window switch.
  26. Operate passenger's window from passenger's window/door lock switch. If passenger's window operates, go to next step. If passenger's window does not operate, perform TEST E: PASSENGER'S WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE  .
  27. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect inoperative window switch harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and inoperative window switch harness connector terminal No. 3 (Red/Light Blue wire). See Fig 1 . If battery voltage exists, replace appropriate rear window control switch. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire.
