Disabling System
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Wait one minute for back-up power supply to deplete.
- Remove bolts retaining driver-side air bag to steering wheel. Disconnect driver-side air bag module electrical connector. Attach Diagnostic Simulator (418-F468) to air bag electrical connector to simulate air bag. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
- To disable passenger-side air bag, open glove box door to fullest extent by pushing in on tabs and releasing door. Remove retaining bolts. Pull air bag out of instrument panel and disconnect air bag electrical connectors. Attach Diagnostic Simulator (418-F468) to wire harness. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
- If equipped with side air bags, disconnect passenger side air bag module electrical connector beneath front seat. Attach Diagnostic Simulator (418-F470) to air bag electrical connector to simulate air bag beneath passenger seat. Attach Diagnostic Simulator (418-F468) to passenger safety belt buckle electrical connector. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
- Disconnect driver side air bag module electrical connector beneath front seat. Attach Diagnostic Simulator (418-F470) to air bag electrical connector to simulate air bag beneath driver seat. Attach Diagnostic Simulator (418-F468) to driver safety belt buckle electrical connector. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
