Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

    All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the air cleaner and the outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. CVT transaxle 

  4. Disconnect the shift cable end.

  5. Place the manual control lever in the DRIVE position.

  6. Place the gear shift lever in the DRIVE position.

  7. Slide the release tab toward the back of the cable end to unlock the adjuster.

  8. Pull out on the adjuster locking tab.

  9. Slide the cable end either backward or forward to align it with the manual control lever.

  10. With the adjuster locking tab released connect the shift cable end to the manual lever.

  11. Push the adjuster locking tab in to lock it in place.

  12. Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster.

  13. 6-speed transaxle 

  14. Disconnect the shift cable end.

  15. Place the manual lever in the DRIVE position.

  16. Place the gearshift lever in the DRIVE position.

  17. Slide the release tab toward the back of the cable end to unlock the adjuster.

  18. Pull out on the adjuster locking tab.

  19. Slide the cable end either backward or forward to align it with the manual control lever.

  20. With the adjuster locking tab released, connect the shift cable end to the manual lever.

  21. Push the adjuster locking tab in to lock it in place.

  22. Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster.

  23. All vehicles 

  24. Install the air cleaner and the outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  25. Verify that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
