Test J: Passive Anti-Theft System Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) module 16-pin harness connector C226. See Figure. Inspect PATS module connector C226 for physical damage, bent terminals or corrosion. If connector is okay, go to next step. If connector is damaged, repair as necessary and recheck system operation.
- Measure resistance of Tan/Orange wire between PATS module harness connector C226 terminal No. 6 and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 2. See Figure and Fig 1
. Measure resistance of Pink/Light Blue wire between PATS module harness connector C226 terminal No. 5 and DLC terminal No. 10. If each resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PATS module and recheck system operation. If either resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate wire between DLC and PATS module. Recheck system operation.
