Inside Mirror Self-Test

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Place autolamp in OFF position. Using a paper clip, press and hold mode switch located on bottom of inside mirror. After 3 seconds, autolamp LED, headlights and parking lights should illuminate. If lights illuminate, go to next step. If lights do not illuminate, repair open or short in White/Violet wire or replace defective parking light relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  2. Release mode switch. If headlights and LED illuminate, go to next step. If headlights and/or LED do not illuminate, repair open or short in Light Green/Yellow or Black wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Autolamp LED, headlights and parking lights should turn off, and inside mirror should darken. If lights and LED turn off and mirror darkens, go to next step. If lights and/or LED does not turn off or mirror does not darken, repair open in Red/Yellow wire and/or short to voltage in Black/Pink wire.
  4. NOTE: Step  4 must be performed within 10 seconds of turning ignition switch to RUN position in step  3 .
  5. Once inside mirror has darkened, place transmission in Reverse. If inside mirror lightens, system passed self-test. If inside mirror does not lighten, repair open in Black/Pink wire.
