Description & Operation

Power side view mirror system consists of mirror head with integral reversible servomotor assembly and mirror control switch mounted on driver's door trim panel. Some models are equipped with an interior electronic dimming rearview mirror and/or heating elements in outside mirror glass. Outside mirror works with rear window defogger system timed interval, unless manually turned off. Some models are equipped with ground illumination lights.

The optional inside electronic dimming rearview mirror is controlled by 2 light-sensitive photocells. Outside light level is measured by a sensor on backside of mirror housing. A second sensor, located on reflective side of mirror, detects approaching rear lights. The mirror switches to normal state whenever transmission gear selector is placed in Reverse. The driver-side outside rearview mirror is available with a similar glare reduction system as an option.
