Test C: Single Mirror Does Not Operate With Switch Logic

  1. Operate driver's and passenger's mirror to left and right positions. If both mirrors move left and right, go to next step. If both mirrors do not move left and right, go to step  3 .
  2. Operate driver's and passenger's mirror to up and down positions. If both mirrors move up and down, system is okay at this time. If both mirrors do not move up and/or down, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove appropriate door trim panel. Disconnect inoperative mirror assembly harness connector. Set mirror control switch to inoperative side. Measure voltage between ground and inoperative mirror assembly harness connector Red wire (driver's side) or Dark Green wire (passenger's side) terminal while operating suspect mirror left and right. See Figure and Figure . If more than 10 volts exists, replace inoperative mirror assembly. If 10 volts or less exists, go to step  5 .
  4. Disconnect inoperative mirror assembly harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and inoperative mirror assembly harness connector Dark Blue wire terminal (driver's side) or Violet wire terminal (passenger's side). See Figure and Figure . If more than 10 volts exists, replace inoperative mirror assembly. If 10 volts or less exists, go to step  6 .
  5. Measure resistance of Red wire (driver's side) and/or Dark Green wire (passenger's side) between mirror control switch harness connector and inoperative mirror assembly harness connector. See Figure , Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace inoperative mirror assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open or high resistance in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  6. Measure resistance of Dark Blue wire (driver's side) or Violet wire (passenger's side) between mirror control switch harness connector and inoperative outside mirror assembly harness connector. See Figure , Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace inoperative mirror assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open or high resistance in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
