Key Programming - Switch State Control

NOTE: Spare key programming switch is a scan tool programmable switch which provides the capability to enable/disable customer spare key programming procedure. This procedure is in owner's manual spare key programming procedure. This programmable switch is provided as a convenience for rental company, fleets or other fleet purchasers, who may not want spare key programming procedure available to vehicle driver.
  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester or New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using WDS or NGS perform security access procedure. See SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE .
  2. After security access procedure is been performed, select SPARE KEY PROGRAMMING SWITCH. If WDS or NGS tester displays DISABLE, spare key programming is not accessible. If WDS or NGS tester displays ENABLE, spare key programming is accessible. Select desired setting.
