Removal & Installation: Notes
CAUTION:
Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage. Prior to removal of modules, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester or New Generation Star (NGS) tester. This information needs to be downloaded into new module once installed. See MODULE CONFIGURATION under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See appropriate COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
