Pinpoint Test K: DTC U1016 - SCP Invalid Data Powertrain Control Module

- K1 CHECK THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
- Check the recorded results from the PCM self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes

For all other codes, REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : GO to K2.
- K2 MONITOR THE PCM REVERSE INPUT
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: PCM PID Monitor.
- Monitor the transmission range (TR) sensor PID.
- Place the selector lever in REVERSE.
- Does the TR sensor PID indicate correctly?
- Yes : GO to K3.
- No : REFER to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 5R55S to continue diagnosis of the input.
- K3 CHECK THE REVERSE SIGNAL INPUT
- Press and hold the AUDIO and MENU buttons for 5 seconds.
- Press 917 Enter.
- Select Navigation Info.
- Select Vehicle Signals.
- Does the reverse signal indicate ON?
- K4 CHECK FOR CORRECT NAVIGATION SYSTEM MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect all the navigation system module connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the navigation system module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new navigation system module. REFER to NAVIGATION SYSTEM MODULE in this article. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
