Module Configuration

WARNING: New Generation Star (NGS) tester will not retain stored configuration information for longer than 24 hours.
NOTE: New modules will require configuration of vehicle data after installation. Prior to removing any configured module, configuration data must be retrieved and transferred to replacement module. All replacement modules will be packaged in a kit which contains a warning label and multi-language instruction sheet emphasizing requirements for replacement module configuration.

Programmable Module Installation (PMI) method is used when a new module is installed on vehicle. It is no longer necessary to command New Generation Star (NGS) tester to gather module option content from old module. NGS tester automatically obtains any available module option content information from old module during vehicle ID routine which is performed when NGS tester is initially connected to vehicle. It is important to connect NGS tester to vehicle and allow it to identify vehicle and obtain configuration data prior to removing any modules.
