Enabling Unlimited Key Mode
NOTE:
This is intended for use by customers who need more than 8 keys programmed.
- Have customer select a 4-digit, non-0000 number that will be programmed to all vehicles. Customer needs to use same number for all vehicles. Valid digits are 0-9 plus letters A-F. At this time, unlimited keys may be programmed to vehicle. To change/view stored code, use procedure for turning off unlimited key mode in next step.
- Select PID: UNLIMITED TRANSPONDER KEY ID and compare value to code chosen in step 1) . Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, select Powertrain Control Module (PCM) from menu. Select SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE. See SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE . If unlimited transponder security key PID was 0000, select active command SET UNLIMITED TRANSPONDER KEY. Enter 4-digit code chosen by customer.
- Select ENABLE UNLIMITED KEY MODE, then IGNITION CODE ERASE. Disconnect NGS tester and turn ignition switch to OFF position. Program 2 ignition keys to enable vehicle. See ERASE ALL KEY CODES - PROGRAM 2 KEYS , beginning at step 2 . Program any additional keys. See PROGRAMMING SPARE KEY(S) WITH 2 PROGRAMMED KEYS .
NOTE:
If PID: UNLIMITED TRANSPONDER KEY ID is not available, unlimited key mode is turned on, and must be turned off before viewing stored code.
