Description & Operation
Driver's power window is controlled by Front Electronic Module (FEM). Driver's power window regulator control switch and motor are hard-wired directly to FEM. FEM will read window regulator control switch actuation and provide corresponding output to window motor. If one touch operation is selected, FEM powers driver's window motor for 7 seconds or until FEM senses motor is stalled. If window track, regulator or glass weather-stripping causes glass to bind, FEM may interpret this as a motor stalled condition and halt motor operation. Passenger's and rear quarter flip window motors are hard-wired directly to window regulator control switches, and are not controlled by FEM.
- Window Regulator Control Switch
Driver's side window regulator control switch controls actuation of left and right side front door power window regulators and left and right side rear quarter-glass flip-out actuators (if equipped). First detent position of driver's window regulator control switch will cause front door window glass to move downward until window regulator control switch is released. Second detent position will express-open front door window glass. Passenger's side window regulator control switch controls actuation of passenger front door window regulator. - One Touch Down Window Operation
One touch down driver's window feature is controlled by FEM. When driver's window regulator control switch is actuated to express down position, FEM powers window regulator until window regulator control switch is actuated to a different position or FEM detects front door window glass is in full down position. - Rear Quarter Window Glass
Left and right side rear quarter glass are an optional power flip-open design which is operated by driver utilizing master window regulator control switch. - Delayed Accessory
Delayed accessory operation allows power windows and radio to operate for up to 10 minutes after ignition switch is turned to LOCK position. Delayed accessory function is controlled by FEM. When ignition switch is turned from RUN to LOCK position, FEM will begin timing sequence. If a door is opened or ignition switch is turned to another position, FEM will cancel delayed accessory operation.
