Test D: Passenger's Front Power Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate passenger's window from master window regulator control switch. If passenger's window does not operate, go to next step. If passenger's window operates, go to step  12 .
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect passenger's window motor 2-pin harness connector C608. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's window motor harness connector C608 Red/White wireterminal. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  6 .
  3. Disconnect passenger's window regulator control switch 6-pin harness connector C600. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 7 (White/Yellow wire). See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  5 .
  4. Disconnect master window regulator control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of White/Yellow wire between master window regulator control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 1 and passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 6. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace master window regulator control switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in White/Yellow wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  5. Measure resistance of Red/White wire between passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 2 and passenger's window motor harness connector C608. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace passenger's window regulator control switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  6. Disconnect master window regulator control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's window motor harness connector C608 Red/White wire terminal. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  7. Disconnect master window regulator control switch harness connector C501. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's window motor harness connector C608 Yellow/Red wire terminal. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  11 .
  8. Disconnect passenger's window regulator control switch 6-pin harness connector C600. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  10 .
  9. Disconnect master window regulator control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of Tan/Light Blue wire between passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 1 and master window regulator control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 5. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace master window regulator control switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Tan/Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  10. Measure resistance of Yellow/Red wire between passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 5 and passenger's window motor harness connector C608. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace passenger's window regulator control switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  11. Connect master window regulator control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's window motor harness connector C608 Yellow/Red wire terminal. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, replace passenger's window motor. See FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  12. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect passenger's window regulator control switch 6-pin harness connector C600. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and passenger's window regulator control switch harness connector C600 terminal No. 3 (Light Blue/Black wire). See Figure . If voltage is 10 volts or more, replace passenger's window regulator control switch. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Light Blue/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
