WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Ford Windstar and 1999 Ford Windstar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Inspect NGS tester terminals for damage. If terminals are okay, go to next step. If terminals are not okay repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Inspect Data Link Connector (DLC) terminals for damage. If terminals are okay, go to next step. If terminals are not okay, repair as necessary.
- Measure voltage between DLC terminal No. 16 (Light Blue/White wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between DLC and Fuse Junction Box (FJB).
- Measure resistance between DLC terminal No. 4 (Black wire) and ground. Measure resistance between DLC terminal No. 5 (Black/White wire) and ground. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, check NGS tester. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire and/or Black/White wire.
