Escort, Focus & ZX2

Ensure gearshift lever is locked in Park. Use a screwdriver to lift small access cover at corner of shift bezel. See Fig 1. Insert a screwdriver vertically into access hole and push downward to release lock lever. Ensure gearshift lever is released from Park.
