Gearshift Cables: Installation

    CAUTION: When inserting the gearshift cables through the dash panel, make sure the arrow on the grommet is pointing down.
  1. Insert the gearshift cables through the dash panel.

  3. Connect the select cable.

  5. Connect the gearshift cable.

  7. Install the 2 gearshift cable grommet nuts.
    • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  8. CAUTION: Make sure the clips are set completely within the cable adapter groove and fully seated.
  9. Install the 2 gearshift cable clips.

  11. Connect the gearshift cables to the transaxle gearshift control assembly.
  12. Adjust the gearshift cables. For additional information, refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  13. Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE article.
  14. Install the RCM. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
