Data Link Diagnostic Test

- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), if not already connected. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. A test will be performed on SCP (circuits No. 914 and 915) and ISO 9141 (circuit No. 70) networks.
- If scan tool displays SYSTEM PASSED, return to article that directed you here and continue diagnosis.
- If scan tool does not display SYSTEM PASSED, perform the following as applicable:
- If no response from scan tool, see TEST I: NO MODULE/NETWORK COMMUNICATION - ALL MODULES under SYSTEM TESTS.
- If scan tool displays CKT 70, CKT 914 and/or CKT 915 = ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, perform appropriate test. See SYMPTOM INDEX table under SYSTEM TESTS.
- If scan tool displays CKT 70 = ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, see TEST G: NO MODULE/NETWORK COMMUNICATION - ISO 9141 NETWORK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- If scan tool displays CKT 914 or CKT 915 = ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, see TEST H: NO MODULE/NETWORK COMMUNICATION - SCP NETWORK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- If module in question is NO RESPONSE ON CKT 914 (BUS +) or NO RESPONSE ON CKT 915 (BUS -), perform appropriate test. See SYMPTOM INDEX table under SYSTEM TESTS.
