Powertrain Control Module

  1. Using scan tool and Ford Service Function (FSF) card, select SERVICE BAY FUNCTIONS, PATS, then select SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE. This procedure will take 10 minutes to perform. Go to next step.
  2. CAUTION: DO NOT select any function other than PARAMETER RESET in this step.
  3. Using scan tool, select PARAMETER RESET. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect scan tool. Turn ignition switch from LOCK to RUN position 5 times, staying in RUN position for 3 seconds or more, and in OFF position for 2 seconds or more each time. This initializes Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and PATS module, and stores Parameter and PCM Identifications (PID PCM_ID) into PATS module. THEFT indicator will prove out (illuminate for 3 seconds, then go out) and vehicle will start.
