Transmission Range Sensor

  1. Place range selector lever in "N" position. Remove shift control lever. Loosen Transmission Range (TR) sensor retaining bolts. Install TR sensor adjustor. See Fig 1. Tighten TR sensor retaining bolts to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Install shift control lever, and tighten nut.
  2. Check for park gear engagement. Start engine and ensure indicated gear positions match transmission response. If operation is not okay, check shift cable adjustment. Verify vehicle only starts in Park and Neutral positions, and back-up lights operate.
