Engine Controls - Removal, Overhaul & Installation: Introduction

NOTE: Information for Escort applies to Escort ZX2, unless otherwise indicated.

Removal, overhaul and installation procedures are covered in this article. If component removal and installation is primarily an unbolt and bolt-on procedure, only a torque specification may be furnished.

Four different 2.0L engines are available. See ENGINE IDENTIFICATION table. Procedures may be identified using model, head configuration or VIN.
