Cooling System Draining

NOTE: Less than 80 percent of coolant capacity can be recovered with engine in vehicle. Dirty, rusty or contaminated coolant should be drained and filled with NEW coolant.

Release pressure in cooling system by slowly turning pressure relief cap 1/2 turn counterclockwise or radiator cap counterclockwise to first stop. When pressure is released, remove pressure relief cap/radiator cap. Raise and support vehicle. Remove 7 bolts and 3 nuts retaining front splash shield and remove front splash shield. Place a suitable container below radiator draincock. Open draincock and drain engine coolant. Close radiator draincock.
