Accessing Parameter Identification

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester or New Generation Star (NGS) tester to DLC. DLC is located under instrument panel between steering column and radio. See Figure. Following scan tool manufacturer's instructions, enter PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD for desired module. Operate appropriate system and ensure Parameter Identification (PID) expected values are obtained. See appropriate PID DEFINITIONS table under PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION & DEFINITIONS .
