Removal and Installation

  1. Upload the module configuration to the diagnostic tool. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  2. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES .
  3. Disconnect the ABS module electrical connector.

  4. Disconnect the anti-lock brake pump motor electrical connector.

  5. Position the underhood auxiliary junction box (AJB) aside.
    1. Release the underhood AJB clips.
    2. Position the underhood AJB aside.

  6. Remove the ABS module.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the control module.

  7. CAUTION: Once the new module is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the module. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
    NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.

  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
