Lumbar Control Switch: Installation

All vehicles 

  1. Install the lumbar control switch to the inboard side shield.

  2. Position the side shield to the seat. Route the lumbar control switch wire harness through the seat opening as noted in removal. Connect the hoses to the lumbar control switch.

  3. Position the inboard side shield.
    1. Position the lumbar control switch to the seat opening.
    2. Install the inboard side shield front retainer.

  4. Engage the inboard side shield retainers.
    1. Lift the inboard side shield.
    2. While holding the side shield up, rotate the side shield to engage the retainers.

  5. Install the recliner handle cover.
    1. Lift up on the inboard side shield.
    2. Push in and then down to engage the side shield retainer.
    3. Install the recliner handle cover.

      Vehicles with heated seats 

  6. Insert the electrical connector through the heated seat switch housing and connect the heated seat switch electrical connector.
  7. Insert the heated seat switch into the housing until seated in the housing.
  8. Install the heated seat switch housing on the seat and install the two pin-type retainers.

    All vehicles 

  9. Install the inboard side shield screw.

  10. Connect the lumbar control switch.

  11. Repower the SRS. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM .
