Charging System - Generators & Regulators: Description

NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, information in this article applies to both Escort Sedan and ZX2 models. ZX2 may also be referred to as Coupe.

The charging system consists of a 58-amp hour battery, charge warning indicator, generator with integral voltage regulator and internal fan, and related fuses and wiring. Generator output is rated at 95 amps for Sedan and 75 amps for ZX2. The charge warning indicator illuminates when ignition switch is turned to ON position as a bulb-check.
