Valve Seals: Installation

  1. Fit the valve stem oil seal.
    • Coat the valve stem with engine oil.
    • Cover the valve stem grooves with the valve stem oil seal sleeve.
    • Slide the valve stem oil seals onto the valve stem and take off the valve stem oil seal sleeve.

    2. NOTE: Check that the valve collets are correctly seated.
  2. Install the valve springs.
    • Insert the valve springs and valve spring retainer.
    1. Compress the valve springs.
    2. Fit the valve collets.

    3. NOTE: Do not tighten yet.
  3. Detach special tool 303-363.
  4. Repeat the operations for all the other cylinders.
  5. Coat the valve tappet with engine oil and insert.
  6. Install the camshafts. For additional information, refer to CAMSHAFTS .
