Valve Seals: Removal

  1. Remove the camshafts.
    • Take out the valve tappets and place to one side in sequence.
  2. WARNING: Always wear protective goggles when working with compressed air. Failure to do so may result in personal injury.

  3. Unscrew the spark plugs from the first cylinder and attach the special tool.
  4. CAUTION: Air pressure is between seven and ten bar.
  5. Attach the special tools and apply compressed air to the cylinder.
    1. Compress the valve spring.
    2. Take out the valve collets.
    • Take out the valve spring retainer and the valve spring.

  6. Remove the valve stem oil seal.
    1. Insert the special tool.
    2. Turn the special tool clockwise and pull out.
