WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2005 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The ABS with traction control and stability assist consists of these additional components:
- rear wheel speed sensors
- rear wheel speed sensor ring (integral to the halfshaft)
- sensor cluster (contains the accelerometer[s], roll rate sensor, and yaw rate sensor)
- steering position sensor (integral to the clockspring)
- primary brake pressure transducer
- brake pedal travel sensor
- brake pedal force switch (integral to the brake booster)
- brake booster solenoid (integral to the brake booster)
The front wheel speed sensor rings are integral to the front hub and bearing assemblies. For additional information, refer to FRONT SUSPENSION - 4X2 or to FRONT SUSPENSION - 4X4 .
The rear wheel speed sensor rings for 4 channel ABS are integral to the rear halfshaft. For additional information, refer to REAR DRIVE HALFSHAFTS .
