Removal And Installation: Column: Installation
- Support the steering column and install the nuts.
- Attach the intermediate shaft to the steering column and install the bolt.
- Support the steering column and install the nuts.
- Attach the intermediate shaft to the steering column and install the bolt.
- Slide the shift cable into position on the steering column lower mounting bracket, then secure with the retaining tab on the shift cable.
- Snap the shift cable onto the shift selector pivot arm.
- Connect the two electrical connectors of the multi-function switch. Position the multi-function switch and install the two retaining screws.
- Snap the wire connector bracket (14A206) onto the bend bracket, and connect all electrical connectors.
- Attach the transmission shift cable loop on the shift selector hook, position the transmission shift cable bracket (7B229) on the steering actuator housing and install the retaining screw.
- Install the clockspring. For additional information, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
- Position the steering column support and install the nuts.
- Install the nuts.
- Connect the battery ground cable(s). For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Deactivate the supplemental restraint (SRS) system if equipped. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION .
