Selector Lever Cable: Installation

NOTE: LH drive shown; RH drive similar.

Install the gearshift cable.

Install the gearshift cable in the bracket.

Connect the gearshift cable to the transaxle shifter lever.

Install the gearshift cable nuts.

Connect the gearshift cable to the gearshift lever.
1. Attach the gearshift cable to the steering column bracket.
2. Connect the gearshift cable to the gearshift lever.

Position a 0.6 mm (0.023 in) feeler gauge between the gearshift lever selector and the gearshift lever detent.

Place the gearshift lever in the DRIVE position and hang a 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight from the gearshift lever.
Loosen the gearshift cable adjuster to adjust the cable then tighten.

Install the lower steering column shroud.
1. Position the lower steering column shroud.
2. Install the screws.

Install the upper steering column shroud.
