Selector Lever Cable: Installation

  1. Attach the draw cord to the transaxle end of the selector lever cable.
  2. Pull the selector lever cable through the floor panel.
  3. Install the selector lever cable grommet.

  4. Secure the insulator material and the floor covering with adhesive tape (head exchanger shown removed).

  5. Install the heater housing cover (right-hand side shown).
    • Locate the four clips.
    • Install the two screws.

  6. Install the center console lower trim panels (left-hand side shown).
    • Install the clip.
    • Install the screws.

  7. Install the footwell heater channel.

  8. Install the selector cable to the selector lever.
    1. Shift the selector lever to "P".
    2. Clip in the selector lever cable outer sleeve.
    3. Clip in the selector lever cable.

  9. Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  10. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
  11. Remove the draw cord.
  12. Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever assembly.
    1. Position the selector lever cable.
    2. Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission range (TR) sensor bracket.
      • Shift the selector lever to "D".
    3. Secure the adjuster assembly by turning the selector lever cable outer sleeve.

  13. Clip the selector lever cable into the right-hand side of the bracket.

  14. Install the exhaust heat shield.

  15. Install the wiring harness cover.

  16. NOTE: Install a new exhaust flange gasket.

  17. Attach the exhaust pipe support insulators and connect the front exhaust pipe.
  18. Remove the support wrap.

  19. Adjust the selector lever cable. For additional information, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT .
