Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Place the range selector lever in the D5 position.
  3. Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to BODY SYSTEM - INTERIOR .
  4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  6. NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the exhaust.

  7. Remove the bolts that retain the exhaust heat shield in place and lower the shield onto the exhaust.
  8. After installing the shift cable, it will be necessary to adjust the shift cable. For additional information, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT .
