Seat Position Sensor: Installation
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, and notes at the beginning of the removal procedure.
Vehicles with manual seats
- Connect the seat position sensor electrical connector.
- Install the seat position sensor.
- Align the seat position sensor so the ear goes over the bracket coming off the seat track.
- Install the screw.
Vehicles with power seats
- Install the seat position sensor.
- Position the seat position sensor.
- Install the screw.
- Connect the electrical connector.
All seat position sensors
- Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
- Install the driver seat. For additional information, refer to DRIVER SEAT .
- Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION .
- With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION .

- Position the driver seat from its forward most position to its rear most position and then back again. While positioning the seat, check that the metal bracket does not come in contact with the seat position sensor.
