Liftgate Window Glass: Removal
WARNING:
Safety glasses and gloves must be worn when carrying out this procedure. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
- Disconnect the two rear window defrost electrical connectors.
- Remove the wiper motor. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS .
- Remove the high mounted stoplamp.
- Using a soft brush or vacuum, remove any dirt or foreign material from the pinch weld.
- Using the special tool, cut adhesive from the liftgate window glass and remove the liftgate window glass.
- Using a soft brash or vacuum, remove the dirt or foreign material from the pinch weld.
CAUTION:
Care must be taken to avoid scratching the pinch weld.
CAUTION:
Use care to avoid damage to the rear package trim cover panel.
NOTE:
Lubricate the existing adhesive with water to aid the special tool while cutting.
