Removal And Installation: Muffler: Removal

Raise and support the vehicle; refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
Remove the (A) two nuts and remove the (B) muffler inlet/outlet pipe yoke clamp (5A231).

Pry the (A) exhaust hanger insulators (5F262) from the (B) mounting hooks.

Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly.
- Heat the muffler inlet pipe and resonator to muffler connection.
- Tap the muffler (5230) off the muffler inlet pipe and resonator (5A289).
