Toe-In Adjustment: Front

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Mercury Marauder, 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis, 2004 Ford Crown Victoria, 2003 Mercury Marauder, and 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Start the engine and center the steering wheel. Turn the engine off, and hold the steering wheel in the "straight forward" position by attaching a rigid link from the steering wheel to the brake pedal. Remove the clamps from the bellows boot. See Fig 1 .
  2. Clean and lubricate the nuts and the tie-rod end threads. Loosen the nuts. Do not allow the bellows boot to twist when the tie-rod is rotated. Rotate the tie-rods to obtain the correct toe setting. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Start the engine and recenter the steering wheel. Recheck the toe settings and adjust if necessary. Tighten the nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the clamps.
