Actuator-Speed Control Servo: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Disconnect the speed control actuator cable from the throttle by opening the throttle manually and snapping the cable and connector off the nail head pin, in the direction shown.

  3. Remove the engine air cleaner assembly .
  4. Disconnect the speed control servo electrical connector.

  5. Remove the speed control servo bracket screws.

  6. Remove the speed control actuator cable cap.
    1. Press the locking tab.
    2. Rotate the speed control actuator cable cap counterclockwise.

  7. Disconnect the speed control cable from the speed control actuator pulley.
    1. Gently push the retaining spring.
    2. Disconnect the speed control cable slug from the speed control actuator pulley.
