System Tests: Notes

NOTE: All diagnostic tests are written specifically for New Generation Star (NGS) tester and Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) testers. Most generic scan tools should be able to perform all test procedures.
NOTE: If malfunction indicator light is illuminated or flashes, check PCM for stored codes. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

Before performing any system test, perform complete visual inspection of system. Check all fuses. Check operation of stoplights including high mounted stoplight. Check speedometer operation. Repair as necessary.
