Timing Drive Components - Timing Sprockets: Removal

Remove the timing belt. For additional information, refer to TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS - TIMING BELT .

WARNING: The camshaft alignment tool is not recommended to hold the camshafts in place when removing or tightening the bolts. Damage to camshaft ears may result.

NOTE: Use open-end wrench to keep the camshaft from rotating.

Remove the bolt and the intake camshaft timing sprocket.

NOTE: Use an open-end wrench to keep the camshaft from rotating.

Remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
- Remove VCT oil plug.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the sprocket.
