Transmission Range Sensor

- Place transmission range selector lever in "N" position. Remove shift control lever. Loosen Transmission Range (TR) sensor retaining bolts. Install Transmission Range Sensor Alignment Tool (307-415). See Fig 1 . Tighten TR sensor retaining bolts to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Install shift control lever, and tighten nut. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check for park gear engagement. Start engine and ensure indicated gear positions match transmission response. If operation is not okay, check shift cable adjustment. Verify vehicle only starts in Park and Neutral positions, and back-up lights operate.
