Transaxle Case: Disassembly

  1. Remove the halfshaft seals (left-hand side shown).

  2. Using the special tools, remove the differential case bearing cups (left-hand side shown).

  3. Using the special tools, remove the final drive input gear bearing cup.

  4. CAUTION: Use care when removing the differential bearing cup not to damage the funnel. Install new funnel if damaged.

  5. Using the special tool, remove the transfer shaft gear bearing cups (left-hand side shown).
  6. NOTE: Note the location of the bleed hole in the funnel in relation to the bottom of the case.
    NOTE: Inspect the bleed hole for foreign material.

  7. Remove the funnel.
  8. Rotate the transaxle 180 degrees.
  9. Using the special tools, remove the final drive input gear bearing cup.
