Selector Lever Cable: Installation
- Attach the draw cord to the transaxle end of the selector lever cable.
- Pull the selector lever cable through the floor panel.
- Install the selector lever cable grommet.
- Secure the insulator material and the floor covering with adhesive tape (head exchanger shown removed).
- Install the heater housing cover (right-hand side shown).
- Locate the four clips.
- Install the two screws.
- Install the footwell heater channel.
- Install the center console lower trim panels (left-hand side shown).
- Install the clip.
- Install the screws.
- Install the armrest brace.
- Install the selector cable to the selector lever.
- Shift the selector lever to "P".
- Clip in the selector lever cable outer sleeve.
- Clip in the selector lever cable.
- Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the draw cord.
- Unlock the shift cable end. Make sure that the cable end moves freely.
- Connect the shift cable end to the manual control lever.
- Connect the shift cable to the cable bracket.
- Connect the shift cable end to the manual control lever.
- Press the lock tab down to secure the cable end from moving.
- Install the exhaust heat shield.
- Connect the center exhaust hanger and remove the support wire.
- Attach the exhaust pipe support insulators and connect the front exhaust pipe.
- Remove the support wrap.
- Adjust the selector lever cable. For additional information, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Install the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Install the battery tray. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Check that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL and the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.

Install a new exhaust flange gasket.
