Cylinder Head

MATERIALS

Item Specification
Super Premium SAE 5W-20 XO-5W20-QSP or equivalent WSS-M2C153-H
  1. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

  2. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

ITEMS 1-10: RETAINER KEYS, RETAINERS, VALVE SPRING, VALVE SEALS, AND VALVES DISASSEMBLY NOTE 

  1. Using the special tool, remove the valve spring retainer keys.

  2. Remove the valve spring assembly.
    1. Remove the valve spring retainer.
    2. Remove the valve spring.

  3. Remove the valve stem seal.

  4. Remove the valve.
  5. Repeat the procedure until all of the valves are removed from the cylinder head.

ITEMS 10-1: RETAINER KEYS, RETAINERS, VALVE SPRING, VALVE SEALS, AND VALVES ASSEMBLY NOTE 

    NOTE: Lubricate the valve stem seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.

  1. Install the valve stem seal.
  2. NOTE: Lubricate the valve stem with clean engine oil prior to installation.

  3. Install the valve.
  4. Using the special tool, install the valve spring, retainer and retainer keys.

  5. Repeat the procedure until all of the valves are installed into the cylinder head.
