Power Steering Pump: Notes

CAUTION: Do not remove the power steering pulley from the power steering pump. The power steering pulley is not removable and damage to the pulley may occur.
CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.
  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.
  2. Remove the air cleaner and the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR, FUEL CHARGING, STARTING & ENGINE ELECTRONICS .
  3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
  4. Remove the LH front frame rail deflector shields.
  5. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  7. Fill and leak test the system. For additional information, refer to POWER STEERING SYSTEM FILLING .
