Fuel Rail: Installation
- Lubricate the fuel injectors with clean engine oil and install in the fuel rail.
- Install the fuel rail and the fuel injectors as an assembly.
- Install the fuel rail studs.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the crash bracket.
- Install the bolt and the stud.
- Connect the vacuum tubes and the electrical connector.
- Install the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector and the two vapor tubes.
- Connect the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor vacuum tube and electrical connector.
- Connect the crankcase ventilation tube.
- Connect the eight fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Install the fuel charging pin-type retainer to the crash bracket.
- Install the generator mounting bracket and bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Connect the generator cable, the electrical connector and the harness pin-type retainer.
- Connect the ground connector to the RH rear stud.
- Connect the generator harness location retainer to the LH front stud.
- Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- Install the EGR system module-to-exhaust manifold tube. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL .
- Install the throttle body. For additional information, refer to THROTTLE BODY .
- Connect the fuel tubes. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES . If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system.
CAUTION:
Use O-rings seals that are made of special fuel- resistant material. Use of ordinary O-ring seals can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse O-ring seals.
