Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the ignition coil.
- Remove the ignition coil, using a twisting motion while pulling up on the ignition coil.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply a light coat of dielectric compound to the inside of the ignition coil boots.
NOTE:
Verify that the ignition coil spring is correctly located inside the ignition coil boot and that there is no damage to the tip of the boot.
