Rocker Arm: Removal

CAUTION: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages, or the oil pan can cause engine failure.
  1. Remove the valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH  or VALVE COVER RH .
    2. CAUTION: If the rocker arms are to be reused, they must be installed in their original location. Mark the rocker arm for location before removing.
  2. Remove the rocker arm bolts and the rocker arms and pivots.
  3. Inspect the rocker arms. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
