Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. NOTE: Make sure the wheel speed sensor is fully seated before installation of the new bolt.
  3. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
  4. NOTE: Install a new O-ring.
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor.
  6. Remove the 3 wheel speed sensor harness retainers.
  7. Remove the wheel speed sensor harness pin-type retainers.
  8. Gain access to the wheel speed sensor harness.
    1. Remove the pin-type retainers.
    2. Position the inner splash shield aside.

  9. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  10. NOTE: Apply a 2.5 mm (0.1 in) bead of sealant to the outside diameter of the wheel speed sensor.
  11. Remove the wheel speed sensor and the harness.
  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
