Fuel Tank Draining

Hand Operated Fuel Storage Tank
164-R3201 or equivalent
WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. If equipped, turn the air suspension switch OFF.
  2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  3. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  4. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank.

  6. NOTE: Follow the operating instructions of the equipment manufacturer.

  7. Using the special tool, pump the fuel from the fuel tank opening into the fuel storage tank.
